Retrofit of a 1909 paper factory into an upscale loft style condominium in downtown Montreal overlooking a park. Originally six storeys, a complete reinforcement of the existing structure was necessary to carry an additional four floors. The building houses 98 residential units with 12' 0" exposed concrete ceilings and columns, exposed brick walls, and bamboo hardwood floors. Each unit is equipped with European kitchens, appliances, and plumbing fixtures.

New 38 000 sq. ft. car dealership. The site on which the building was built was an old dump site; Reliance’s team came up with economical method to remediate the site and render it suitable to build. Being the first new Audi 2011 Corporate Design built in Canada, Reliance needed to locally procure all the specified German products. Reliance’s sourced products have become the new Canadian standard specification: from exterior and interior lighting, ceilings, and exterior details, Reliance acted as design manager, adapting the German design to our local conditions. The exterior cladding is made of aluminum curtain wall with oversize glass dimensions, aluminum composite panels, masonry and a unique mesh cladding, very particular to the Audi Program.

The construction was completed in a record time of 5 months, at the same time being the first dealership with the new Audi image in Canada.

This 44,000 square foot building includes a mezzanine of 13,500 square feet for a satellite manufacturer. Special attributes include a 2,520 sq.ft. clean room that gives access to a larger 45’ clear, 12,250 sq.ft. clean room, classified as a class 100,000 clean room. It is equipped with a pit to receive a 28’-0’’ x 24’-0’’ vibrating table and has two overhead cranes of 10 and 15 tons respectively. It meets all the technical, mechanical and electrical requirements of the International Aerospace Industry.

This new 203,000 sf distribution center constructed for Akzo Nobel Sico was built on a fast track basis and completed in less than 5 months. The project was submitted as a candidate for LEED certification and included a TPO roof to reduce solar heat gain and nine solar wall panels used to pre-heat fresh air for the warehouse. Shipping areas included 29 dock-level doors including hydraulic levelers and one drive-in door.

Only Reliance could envision the transformation of this waste site into a valuable and fuctional plot of land. The site originally contained 20' - 0" of unsuitable fill material, but Reliance formulated a soil re-engineering plan that eliminated the need to import any material. Completed in 2010, this two storey LEED building totals 140,000 sf of office and warehouse space. The warehouse is approximately 30' 0" clear and includes over eight loading docks.

Originally built in 1995, this valve production facility, fit with overhead and jib crane installations, was expanded in 1999 and more recently in 2009. The 2009 extension was a 50,000 sf added on to the existing warehouse and included construction of a new adjoining fabrication plant. It includes offices on 2 floors totaling 20,000 sf. The specifications of the specialized production areas required unique installations in electrical, HVAC and fire protection, which were all incorporated into the design and final product.

Reliance has completed sixteen Rona home renovation stores, with full service parking areas, provisions for heavily loaded floors and enclosed lumber yards. Stores average 130,000 sf. In 2007 Reliance beat the Rona record for having completed a 100,000 sf store in a record of 84 days.
