We build warehouses, distribution centers, cold storage facilities, transportation/logistics facilities, heavy industry factories and foundries for a variety of industrial clients, ranging from manufacturers of consumer products through to metals recyclers. The volume of industrial construction we do – amounting to some two hundred buildings over the past decade and generating over two million square feet of new industrial space every year – places Reliance among the top contractors in North America in this market.

Recently, given the scarcity of new land in developing metropolises and the constant increasing volume of imports from the far east, the redevelopment and modernization of existing industrial facilities and brown sites to today’s marketable standards, has become a niche market in which we have excelled.

Browns Under construction  |  38,000 sq.ft.
Contract delivery :
Expansion of the Browns Shoes warehouse of 38,000 sq.ft. with a clear height of 40’. 3 unloading docks and 1 drive-in door are added to the existing building and the floors will offer a level of flatness of FF45 in order to accommodate storage at height. The project requires 65 new wheelbases in the warehouse in order to accommodate new mezzanines on 2 new floors for storage and the development of new offices.

Conversion of an existing bulk storage warehouse facility to a modernized refrigerated / freezer distribution center complete with exterior facades being re-built to meet the requirements of a refrigerated environment and upgrades to shipping / receiving activities. The exterior truck parking / loading dock facilities are being fully revamped to suit the conversion from a stagnant warehouse facility to a modern an effective shipping / receiving operation. The project includes the full removal and replacement of the rear building structure and foundation to suit the revised vocation of the building. The existing roofing system is being replaced to meet the new needs of the facility whiCh include a complete refrigeration system for the entire 150,000 square feet of the distribution center.

Caledon 2022  |  130 acres
Contract delivery :
Tribal Partners purchased a piece of land which is 130 acres for industrial development. A stream runs through the property and had to be relocated for future development. Reliance was selected by Tribal to construct a new channel and complete the geomorphology of the work.
Transit 2021  |  110,000 sq.ft.
Contract delivery :
This 110,000 square feet warehouse for Transit, automobile parts supplier, includes 10,000 square feet of offices. The construction's innovative approach includes using geothermal energy to supply the entirety of the heating and cooling system as well as a fully automated warehouse. The total warehouse capacity will be tripled by adding 110,000 square feet to the exiting 50,000 square feet.

Voila by Sobeys is the construction of an automated warehouse project specifically designed for best-in-class grocery home delivery. Totalling 498,000 square feet, this project located in Pointe-Claire is the first of its kind in Quebec and serves both the region of Ottawa and Quebec. This innovative service has the capacity to serve up to 39,000 products including fresh produce.

Simons new 40' high distribution facility in Quebec City includes 470,000 sq.ft. of warehouse, 47 shipping and receiving doors, along with an attached 110,000 sq.ft. office facility.
Dollarama expansion 2019  |  270,000 sq.ft.

270,000 sq.ft.expansion of one of Dollarama's distribution centers in TMR. The expansion involves 27 new loading docks and a 60,000 sq.ft. mezzanine. The project includes the demolition of two existing industrial buildings to make way for the new expansion.

Demolition of the existing buildings started in the late fall of 2015. The project includes a new 510,000 sf 45’ high warehouse located in Lachine, Quebec at the corner of Louis Amos and 23rd Avenue. The facility, along with its 46 loading doors and 7500 SF of finished offices, was delivered in early fall of 2016.

This fast-track office building and warehouse project achieved the LEED™ Silver certification. It consists of a poured concrete structure with retro plated floors including post-tensioned structural slabs, 2 storeys of high-end head office space with floor to ceiling glass, and three additional levels of office mezzanines, a 90,000 sq.ft. warehouse and indoor parking garage, and a 20’ by 30’ cantilevered executive conference room held up by post-tensioned beams located on the roof.


Canadawide - Phase 2 2013  |  210,000 sf

A 210,000 sf expansion of a refrigerated warehouse and addition of a new head office facility for Canadawide Fruits, the largest fruit and vegetable wholesaler in Canada. The project includes construction of 60,000 square feet of office space, and an indoor underground parking garage with 165 parking spots, including 33 spots for customers’ trucks and vans. 26 overhead doors were installed for deliveries and customer pick-ups. Adjacent to the warehouse is a refrigerated showroom with 20' ceilings and a two-storey atrium. A floating 500 psf live load capacity slab was built for the entire warehouse and showroom area in order to insulate the refrigerated sections properly. It is a concrete and steel structure with exterior brick and curtain wall facades.
